Installation Note
These Strapon® sensors are manufactured with the sensor attached to a contact shim and then overmolded with an insulating layer ready to be clamped to the surface.
When installing a Strapon® style sensor, the sensor should be tightened until the shim is firmly on the surface, but not tight enough to strain the sensing element or deform the silicone rubber. A thermal grease can be used between the surface and sensing shim to increase the thermal conductivity if desired, but it should be noted that some silicone heat sink compounds could have an adverse effect on the silicone overmold.
Strapon® Models 22393 and 26393 have an adapter and pipe clamp to facilitate installation. The adapter has a built-in stop to prevent excessive tightening of the clamp.
